on Nov 21, 2019

Today, the New Jersey State League of Municipalities presented the 2019 Distinguished Public Service Award to Sustainable Jersey at the League Conference in Atlantic City.  The award was established to honor organizations that have, over a period of time, made substantial contributions to the State of New Jersey through their Distinguished Public Service. Sustainable Jersey is celebrating its 10th Anniversary and currently 80 percent or 450 of New Jersey’s 565 municipalities are participating in the municipal certification program. The award was presented to Sustainable Jersey Executive Director Randall Solomon and Sustainable Jersey Board Chair Anne-Marie Peracchio, at the League Delegate luncheon that included a keynote address provided by Governor Phil Murphy.

When accepting the award, Sustainable Jersey Executive Director Randall Solomon said, “We are proud to be recognized by the New Jersey State League of Municipalities for our efforts. Sustainable Jersey is about living today as if the future matters. We are about supporting local leadership to solve the great sustainability challenges of our time. I want to express the gratitude of the Sustainable Jersey Board and staff to all of our partners and in particular to the local officials and volunteers who are doing the hard work every day to make a sustainable future.”
