Due to safety considerations surrounding the COVID pandemic and the New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference going virtual this year, the Sustainable Jersey Annual Luncheon will not be held In November. Instead, a virtual awards ceremony will be held in early 2021. More details will be provided in the coming months.

Impacts to the Certification Cycle

The certification cycle timeline will remain the same. The second submission deadline is September 11, and feedback will be provided in mid-October. However, following the October reviews, certifications will not be issued. All certifications will be issued following the final November 22 application deadline. Municipalities that qualify for certification after the second round of review can choose to resubmit for additional points in November or leave their application in the Awaiting Updates status and will be certified after the final review period. It is still highly encouraged that municipalities submit updates to their application by the September 11 resubmission deadline to get feedback and make any final updates for certification by the November 22 deadline.

Sustainable Jersey Annual Awards including the Sustainability Champions will be based on the final point totals achieved at the end of the year.
