Creativity & Innovation Award

This award recognizes forward-thinking municipalities that support a culture of creativity and innovation as they implement new approaches to solving problems. View all previous recipients here.

Margate City has been selected to receive the award for its creation of standards to contain harmful microcontaminants on construction sites which are released into the air and down storm drains. The City’s green team, Sustainable Margate, has been conducting education and outreach with state and local leaders, and green teams across New Jersey, establishing a true movement to improve public health and the quality of our air and waterways.

Collaboration Award

This award recognizes green teams that have advanced sustainability by building strong partnerships. View all previous recipients here.

Long Branch Green Team has been selected for the restoration of Jackson Woods Park. The Friends of Jackson Woods was formed to revitalize the park to benefit the community. Partnerships with local businesses, city officials, the governing body and other environmental stewards, have been a critical piece of their success in implementing more sustainable practices and protecting natural resources. Through their revitalization and beautification efforts, Jackson Woods is becoming a well-maintained oasis in the urban core of an underserved community.
