Sustainable Jersey Grants & Technical Assistance Programs
Sustainable Jersey strives to connect participating communities with financial and technical resources to successfully complete actions and make progress towards a sustainable future. To that end, we directly offer multiple competitive grant and technical assistance opportunities funded by program underwriters and partner organizations each year. In addition, we maintain a funding database that includes other opportunities offered by a wide range of government agencies, foundations, corporations, and non-profit organizations.
2021 FREE Technical Assistance for Energy Initiatives
Sustainable Jersey (SJ) is offering no-cost technical assistance (TA) to all New Jersey municipalities and school districts registered with the Sustainable Jersey or Sustainable Jersey for Schools program. The TA program will provide help to improve facility operations through energy analysis, planning, and upgrades. SJ staff with in-depth training in energy project assessment and development will work with selected municipalities and school districts for approximately 10-12 weeks during spring 2021. Learn more here. The application deadline has been extended to February 19, 2021.
The 2021 Sustainable Jersey Grants Cycle funded by the PSEG Foundation will be announced the week of February 22, 2021. Once announced, more information on this cycle will be available on the website. Review the "Thinking About Applying for a Grant?" section of the website to get started on putting together a project proposal.
Since 2009, Sustainable Jersey has awarded $5.9 million in grants to participating municipalities and school districts.
Sustainable Jersey grants not only provide crucial financial support for projects that might otherwise not materialize, but also enable towns to complete actions that contribute toward certification. Review the Actions page for ideas on possible projects. All actions have a Resources section with organizations that can help with project completion.
