This informational webinar will introduce a new initiative of the New Jersey Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council (Highlands Council) to bring resilience planning to local communities.  We are a team assembled by New Jersey Future, under contract with the Highlands Council, to develop Highlands-specific municipal guidance for achieving compliance with recently updated legislative and policy requirements on sustainability. These updates require that municipalities conduct climate change-related hazard vulnerability assessments and incorporate climate resilience, environmental justice, and environmental sustainability into community master plans.

Attendees will be provided information on this exciting new initiative and have the opportunity to offer their recommendations on the potential approaches under consideration. There will be future ways in which local leaders and practitioners can provide their knowledge and expertise so that the guidance being developed meets the needs of Highlands communities.
