Since 2016, the groundbreaking SolSmart program has empowered over 500 local governments to pave the way for solar energy market expansion. Backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, SolSmart provides invaluable free technical assistance to local governments. Solsmart will be hosting three webinars for the purpose of guiding the growth of solar energy:

• Solar PV Planning and Zoning Best Practices: Discussion on planning and zoning for solar PV installations and development. September 4, 2024 at 1:00pm. 
• Understanding the Fire Risks Associated with Solar and Energy Storage: Training on understanding the fire risks associated with solar and energy storage technology. September 10, 2024 at 12:00pm.
• Solar PV Permitting and Inspection Best Practices: Best practices in permitting and inspection for solar PV installations. September 17, 2024 at 12:00pm. 

Attending these webinars will assist you in completing and earning points in the Make Your Town Solar Friendly action. Municipalities that receive SolSmart Silver designation automatically qualify for 15 points for this action!
