New Jersey Future and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association will hold this three-day conference convening virtually on June 21-22 and in person on June 23 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. The conference will feature a multitude of timely sessions and bring together hundreds of visionary New Jersey professionals, elected officials, and community activists who share a passion and commitment to the Garden State to reimagine land use to optimize efficiency, promote sustainable growth, and bolster community resilience. Sustainable Jersey Program Coordinator for Policy and Planning, Tracy Glova, will be speaking during the virtual session, “A Model Climate Vulnerability Assessment Process for New Jersey Municipalities,” on Thursday, June 22, 2023, from 10:15am – 11:15am. The session will provide information about a step-by-step process to analyze climate vulnerability in a way that addresses resilience of the whole community, going beyond a project-based approach and toward a fuller understanding of climate risks and impacts to all the systems supporting a community. The planning process outlined in this session will describe how to reach clear land use goals as an outcome of the climate vulnerability assessment and will describe the tools and resources available to communities.
