Program Information

The Sustainable Jersey-PSE&G Partnership Program empowers municipalities, schools, residents and businesses to better manage energy use and leverage PSE&G’s high impact, cost-effective-energy-efficiency programs and incentives. Increasing energy efficiency for local businesses, residents, and government and school facilities provides economic, environmental, community and health benefits.

The New Jersey Clean Energy Act became law in 2018 and set ambitious energy reduction targets. The law identified New Jersey’s public utilities as the entities that would be responsible for implementing many key energy efficiency programs. Thanks to generous support from PSE&G, Sustainable Jersey is able to help eligible municipalities and K-12 public school districts, as well as residents and small businesses take advantage of these lucrative programs.

The Partnership Program was established to change the fact that only a small percent of New Jersey homes and small businesses have taken steps to make their buildings more energy efficient. The Program’s technical assistance, resources and flexible funding options were designed to maximize success in achieving energy efficiency and cost-saving goals.

Sustainable Jersey provides municipalities no-cost, customized support in three tracks:

Program Tracks
Track 1: Residential Energy Efficiency Outreach Campaign*
Track 2: Commercial Energy Efficiency Outreach Campaign*
Track 3: Technical Assistance for Energy Efficiency in Municipal Facilities

A municipal resolution is required to participate in the Program. The purpose of the resolution is to affirm that the governing body approves and supports the proposed program. It’s best to start this process early to allow enough time for it to be adopted. A signed/certified resolution should be uploaded with the application to the Sustainable Jersey grants portal. If you are unable to submit the certified resolution with your application, please notify Leanne McGowan at mcgowale@tcnj.edu.

A template for the required application resolution is provided below.
