Sustainable Jersey Commitment to Equity
Sustainable Jersey works to ensure that its programs, policies, and practices recognize and address differences in access, opportunity, and outcomes among and within communities. By strengthening its capacity to respond to the ways historical patterns and current policies affect people differently, Sustainable Jersey aims to support New Jersey municipalities and schools in building healthy, resilient communities where all residents receive a fair share in benefits and participate meaningfully in civic decision-making. This includes a commitment to identify and remove barriers created by bias, discrimination, or unequal treatment, and to stand against practices and systems that cause harm or limit opportunity for individuals or groups.
