NJ Civic Tech Competition Finalists to be Judged and Winners Announced at Event on March 31; $15,000 in Cash and Other Prizes

WHAT: Free event at which finalist teams in Sustainable Jersey’s Coding for Community competition will demonstrate their solutions to an audience and the judges and awards will be announced. Coding for Community connected towns in New Jersey with a talented pool of tech experts to solve local issues through the use of technology. AT&T is providing $10,000 to Sustainable Jersey to use for prize money. The winning team will receive $8,000, free co-working space at a premiere location and coaching sessions with a venture capitalist and digital marketer. Each member of the winning team will have free entry into the ten-week Innovation Accelerator Program at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Runners up will receive $4,000. Municipalities supporting the winning team’s project will receive $2,000 for the first-place team and $1,000 for the second-place team. RSVP to reserve a seat: skowronl@tcnj.edu

The finalist teams are collaborating with the following New Jersey municipalities: East Orange, Haddonfield, Highland Park, Jersey City, Maplewood, Newark, New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Princeton and Trenton.

9:15 am: Demonstration of Solutions: Each team takes three minutes to demo their final product and make a case for the impact of their solution.

11:30 am: Judging Break

12:00 pm: Presentation of Winning Teams
