  • Sustainable Jersey How-To Guide: How to Implement an Energy Savings Improvement Plan:  Energy efficiency is one of the best ways public institutions can save money and tax dollars. However, to realize savings from energy efficiency it is necessary to first come up with capital to pay for building and equipment upgrades. Even when the savings greatly outweigh the costs over the lifetime of the upgrade, these upfront costs often present a significant obstacle to moving forward. Sustainable Jersey, sponsored by the NJ Board of Public Utilities, has created a user-friendly document intended to help local governments implement an Energy Savings Improvement Program that is designed specifically to overcome this hurdle.
