Sustainable Communities Grant Program Now Open Through Atlantic City Electric and Sustainable Jersey

on May 04, 2026

Atlantic City Electric is proud to open its Sustainable Communities Grant Program in partnership with Sustainable Jersey for the seventh consecutive year. The program, which has distributed more than $350,000 in funds across South Jersey to date, supports projects focused on environmental stewardship, open space preservation, and improvements to parks and recreation resources.

The application period is open now through June 13, 2026. Municipalities across South Jersey are encouraged to apply. Learn more and access the application on Sustainable Jersey’s website.

“Supporting our customers and the places they call home is central to everything we do,” said Andrew Hendry, Region President of Atlantic City Electric. “From funding ADA-accessible trail improvements at local parks to purchasing radio equipment for first responders, we’ve seen what’s possible when community-driven ideas get the support they deserve, and we’re proud to help make it happen.”

Municipalities across South Jersey are eligible to apply for the 2026 Sustainable Communities Grant Program, which includes $35,000 in environmental stewardship grants for projects that restore habitats, support native plantings, and improve access to outdoor spaces. An additional $15,000 in resiliency grants is available for community-driven solutions that enhance safety and reliability during emergencies, including severe weather events.

“Through our partnership with Atlantic City Electric, this program helps municipalities advance projects that protect natural resources and prepare for extreme weather,” said Randall Solomon, executive director of Sustainable Jersey. “These grants support practical solutions that make communities stronger and improve everyday quality of life.”

The Sustainable Communities Grant Program is just one way Atlantic City Electric supports South Jersey in meeting its clean energy and climate goals. Through a range of programs—from supporting the expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure to investing in renewable energy and offering rebates for energy-efficient appliances and home upgrades — the company is helping create a more sustainable, energy-smart future for the region.
