According to the New Jersey Energy Master Plan, low- and moderate-income (LMI) households spend a proportionately higher percentage of their income on energy bills than higher-income households do. To increase participation in the benefits of New Jersey’s clean energy transition, programs such as Community Solar and Comfort Partners are especially targeted to achieve greater energy equity.
