The New Jersey Sustainability Summit is a momentous event in our state, drawing change-makers from across the political, private, and public sectors. This exceptional one-day forum spotlights the successes and lessons learned from the people and projects that are helping New Jersey realize a more sustainable future. 2024 Summit attendees walked away with tangible resources and strategies to assist with their own community initiatives. This is your opportunity to do the same. We invite all who are interested to be ready to deepen their understanding and expand their network.
*Breakfast & lunch are included in the cost of registration. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available. Please bring your favorite reusable coffee cup & water bottle.
Registration
$45: Elected & appointed officials, green team volunteers, and public & nonprofit employees

Sustainability Sessions
This year's Summit boasts a line up of 16 sessions guaranteed to provide you with the opportunity to engage in a day of lively discussions around the future of sustainability. You will have a chance to learn new skills and strategies for tackling issues you care about most, including effective communication and public engagement, building and fleet electrification, community energy planning, eMobility, food security, community resilience, waste reduction, community forestry, & more. Mayors and school officials will share strategies to successfully propel your projects forward. These sessions will dig deeper into existing actions and tools from Sustainable Jersey and partner organizations.
Drop In Coaching
We added session times for drop ins with content experts and staff to get coaching on advancing community forestry, NJTPA's Temporary Demonstration Lending Project Library, and the advantages of joining the Sustainable Jersey-PSEG Partnership Program.
Continuing Education Credits
Credits will be available for CRPs, CTCs, QPAs, CMFOs, CCFOs, RMCs, and CPWMs. In addition, NJACCHO has approved 5 public health CE credits for attendance of the entire event. See the session listing for more details. Additional CEUs will be announced.
Sustainability Exhibit
Bring solutions back to your community! The Sustainability Exhibit is not your typical business expo. It’s your opportunity to meet experts, and learn about new products hitting the market and available resources and strategies to enhance your sustainability efforts. The list of 2025 Exhibitors & Exhibit Hall map will be viewable on the free Whova event app.
EV Ride & Drive and Fleet Showcase
Take an electric vehicle (EV) for a spin around the Bell Works campus! Our friends at DEP will be hosting an EV Ride & Drive with the latest electric vehicles from dealers across the region. Thanks to the NJ Electric Vehicle Association and NJ Clean Cities Coalition, you'll get to visit some electric medium and heavy duty vehicles and be wowed by the newest technology.
Network
This annual event presents the opportunity for municipal and school district officials and staff, environmental commission and green team members to connect with each other in person and with state agency, non-profit, academic, and business representatives making change happen. Gain tips for success and explore opportunities to join forces on projects to have a more regional impact! The Whova app will soon be available to engage with other registrants before and during the event.
Post-Summit Happy Hour
After the event we will be hosting a cash bar "happy hour" to keep those connections going at Bar Bella's indoor and outdoor lounges. Don't drink? Don't worry. Grab a coffee, snack or mocktail from one of the Bell Works shops and bring it on the patio.
A One-of-a-Kind Location
We are returning to Bell Works, the historic former Bell Labs building (and location of the TV series Severence). Located just minutes from the Garden State Parkway (exit 114) and the Hazlet NJ Transit stop. Parking will be available in the BLUE and RED colored lots on the southeast end of the main building. View the parking map.
The lovely grounds will invite you to take your networking and lunch outdoors for a walk around the lake or simply chill on the patio.
Electric Vehicle Charging
Bring your EV! Twelve Tesla Destination Chargers with built in J1772 adapters are conveniently located in the Blue (2) and Red (4) lots.
Event App (Whova)
We will again be using Whova to increase the sustainability of our event (less paper) and provide you with unique networking opportunities. You will gain exclusive access to important event information, including: speaker details, exhibitor listing, floormaps; and be able to connect with other attendees & speakers, plan meet ups, receive important notifications from SJ staff about the event in real time, and more. You must be registered in order to gain access. Stay tuned for the launch of the event app.
