This Worskhop Series is hosted by the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, Barnegat Bay Partnership, and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and is designed for municipal officials, engineers, contractors, and anyone who is interested in or works on ecological projects, such as living shorelines or stormwater management. Hear from experts in the region and learn about design, permitting, monitoring and planning ecological projects. There is no cost to attend the workshops and lunch is provided.

Introduction to Ecological Solutions for Coastal Community Hazards

This workshop compares nature based infrastructure and traditional techniques,explains coastal flooding applications, joint permitting process and Partnership in Action.

Heath Impact Assessment: Incorporating Health Into Community Planning and Decision-Making

Whether you work in land use, energy, law, housing, transportation, public health or finance, you and your next project or policy can have a major impact on community health. This seminar will focus on health impact assessment (HIA) as a tool to promote community health and equity in planning processes and decision-making. Participants will engage in group exercises related to HIA steps, discuss opportunities and challenges to integrating health into planning and policy processes, and learn about new statewide collaborative initiatives and emerging tools to build capacity for health advancement in planning, and to support health in all policies.

A municipality can earn 10 points towards Sustainable Jersey certification for the Health In All Policies Professional Development action if three individuals, including at least one staff or appointed official from the planning board, the governing body and local health department attends this training.
