Energy Efficiency Leadership Workshop in Hammonton Lake Park on May 1

Sustainable Jersey is hosting a workshop to share how local governments can promote energy efficiency.  Participants will learn how to develop and implement strategies that improve municipal facility and operations efficiency while encouraging residents and businesses to also explore energy efficiency improvements.

  • Options to improve the energy efficiency of municipal facilities and operations
  • Steps involved in developing and implementing energy efficiency improvements
  • Investment and funding opportunities including NJ Clean Energy Programs that provide financial and technical assistance
  • Strategies for motivating residents and businesses to undertake energy efficiency improvements
  • Sustainable Jersey actions and guidance related to energy efficiency initiatives


Energy can account for as much as 10% of a town’s annual operating budget. Local governments can save money by improving energy efficiency in existing buildings and designing new building to be energy efficient. Investing in energy conservation measures in taxpayer-funded facilities serves to reassure constituents that tax dollars are being spent wisely while showcasing energy-efficient technologies.
