Reporting Requirements for Small Grant Recipients

All Sustainable Jersey Small Grants recipients are required to submit progress reports. The specific reporting requirements vary based on the amount of the grant award. Reports are submitted using and online report form. Grant recipients will receive a reminder email with instructions for completing the online report form at least 30 days prior to the report due date.

Large Grant Awards ($10,000 and Up)

All grants awarded after (and including) the 2014 Gardinier Environmental Fund cycle will be required to complete an interim and final report using an online report form. Reminders will be emailed to the primary project contact in advance of the reporting submission deadline.

Reporting Requirements

Interim Status Report

The interim status report must answer the question “Where are you?” by describing project progress, expenditures to date, photos, and modifications to the original project plan in the grant proposal (if needed). These must be preapproved by Sustainable Jersey. For projects awarded before 2014, please complete the Interim Report Template and submit it to grants@sustainablejersey.com.

Final Report

The mandatory final report must document completion of the project described in the application (or the portion of the project for which the grant was intended).  Make sure to include:

Project Completion Summary

  • Summary of what was accomplished with the grant funding. Include any modifications to the original and/or interim project plan outlined in the grant proposal and interim report.
  • Impact of the project on the community. Include quantitative and/or qualitative data (money saved, residents impacted, number of participants, etc.)
  • Photos of green team activities related to the grant.
  • Optional: Samples of communications distributed to the school related to the grant project (i.e. newspaper or newsletter articles, grand opening events, etc.)

Lessons Learned

  • Please describe any challenges you faced in completing the project and how they were overcome.
  • What would you do differently if the project was undertaken again and/or what advice would you give to someone about to undertake a similar project?

Project Expenditures

  • Include a final project expenditures report with supporting documentation.

*NOTE: Dispersal of the final 50% of the grant funding is contingent upon receipt and approval of the documentation listed above.

$2,000 Capacity Building Grant Awards

All grantees awarded after (and including) the 2014-2015 PSEG cycle will be required to complete a final report using an online report form. Reminders will be emailed to the primary project contact in advance of the report submission deadline. The final report must document the completion of the green team work plan activities described in the application (or the portion of the project for which the grant was intended).

Note: Any substantial changes to project scope and/or budget must be preapproved by Sustainable Jersey.
