The New Jersey Sustainability Summit is a momentous event in our state, annually drawing more than 350 change-makers from across the political, private, and public sectors. This exceptional one-day forum spotlights the people and projects that are helping New Jersey realize a more sustainable future. Twelve break out sessions will allow participants to engage in thoughtful discussions, share best practices, celebrate the work that is currently being done in sustainability throughout New Jersey, and identify areas for future regional collaboration. We invite all who are interested to be ready to deepen their understanding and expand their network. View the Summit agenda here.

Celebrating Progress, Envisioning the Future

This year Sustainable Jersey turns ten! In 2009, the organization’s founders set the goal of “a better tomorrow, one community at a time.” It’s amazing how far sustainability in New Jersey has come since then. We’re proud of the role Sustainable Jersey has played in that movement. The 2019 Sustainability Summit will celebrate Sustainable Jersey’s 10th Anniversary and spotlight the many people, organizations, businesses and agencies that have contributed to our progress.

NEW Opportunities & Experiences

A New Location: Bell Works

  • In order to accommodate this year's anniversary celebration, we've moved to a new location - Bell Works, the one-of-a-kind reimagining of the historic former Bell Labs in Holmdel, NJ. Follow signs to the BLUE colored lot where you will park and enter at the southeast end of the main building.
  • Taking the train? Bell Works provides a free shuttle to and from the Hazlet train station. Schedule and more information here. Make sure to budget 20 minutes for the ride. And note that the shuttle coincides with southbound trains from NYC in the morning and northbound to NYC in the afternoon.
  • Immediately following the event, we will head to the main level to enjoy a cash bar "happy hour" at Bell Market in the bright and airy atrium and outdoor lounge (weather permitting). The kitchen at Corbo Pizza will also remain open past business hours for us in case you are hungry and want to wait out the traffic.

Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive

  • ChargEVC is providing the opportunity for you to get behind the wheel of the hottest electric vehicles on the market and take them for a spin around the Bell Works campus. You will have the opportunity to sign up for a ride at the ChargEVC table in the Sustainability Exhibit Hall.

E-Scooter Demo

  • Lime will be providing a demo of their electric scooters. Take one for a ride inside Bell Works! Learn about scooter sharing opportunities for your community.

Sustainability Exhibit

  • Meet the businesses, organizations, and agencies that can help you achieve your sustainability efforts. Exhibitors will present their sustainability solutions for you to bring back to your community.
