This Task Force is working in partnership with Shaping NJ to support a regional food system that can expand food production across NJ, improve the health and nutrition by addressing the obesity epidemic through increase access to healthy food, promote school and community gardens, and remove municipal barriers to food production. In addition to identifying opportunities and barriers to urban and residential food production, it is also developing resources to provide guidance to communities that wish to support urban homesteading (e.g. raising chickens, bees, etc.).
